Replacement of section of a Sewer Line 3

Issue Description

We received an emergency call from a client regarding a water leak from the ceiling area of a commercial building.

Actions Taken

  1. Immediate Response:
    • An appointment was scheduled for the same day.
  2. Initial Inspection:
    • Upon arrival, we inspected the ceiling and identified water pooling above the bathtub area inside the bathroom.
  3. Access and Diagnosis:
    • We contacted the building manager to obtain permission to open the drywall for further investigation.
    • After receiving approval, we accessed the ceiling and discovered that the cast iron P-trap was leaking and heavily rusted. The issue was originating from units on the second floor.
  4. Approval and Replacement:
    • With approval from the manager, we proceeded to replace the old P-trap.
    • The old P-trap was removed, and a new one was installed within one hour.
  5. Post-Installation Testing:
    • We conducted thorough testing by filling the bathtub with water and running the water to ensure that the new P-trap was functioning correctly and that no leaks were present.
  6. Cleanup:
    • The work area was cleaned thoroughly after completing the project.

Result

The replacement of the cast iron P-trap was successfully completed, and the new P-trap was tested to confirm that it was leak-free. The area was cleaned, and the client was satisfied with the prompt and professional service provided.
