Issue Description
We received an emergency call from our client regarding a water leak originating from underground. Upon arrival, we observed water leaking above the floor between the garage and the apartment area.
Actions Taken
- Initial Assessment and Excavation:
- We identified the source of the leak and began excavation in the affected area.
- During excavation, we encountered a significant amount of water seeping from the floor in the same area.
- Shutting Off Water Supply:
- We discovered that the leak was in the main PVC water line supplying approximately 100 units.
- We promptly shut off the main water supply after obtaining approval from the building manager.
- We drained the entire water system using a vacuum machine to prepare for the repair.
- Repair Process:
- We reached the damaged section of the PVC main water line.
- We repaired the damaged sections of the PVC pipe, ensuring all faulty parts were replaced.
- Restoring Water Supply:
- After completing the repairs, we reopened the main shut-off valve from the street area.
- We conducted a thorough inspection to ensure there were no leaks and that the water supply was running smoothly.
- Cleanup and Restoration:
- The project, including the pipe repair and concrete restoration, took approximately 4 to 6 hours from start to finish.
- We cleaned the entire work area thoroughly after completing the project.
